Jessica N. Bahari-Kashani, MD
Dr. Bahari was born and raised in the Pacific Northwest in a small town near Salem, Oregon. She completed her bachelor of science at the University of Washington in Cell & Molecular Biology with magna cum laude honors at the age of nineteen. She became fascinated with cancer genetics and spent two years at Oregon Health & Sciences University in the basic sciences researching colon cancer (HNPCC). She discovered her passion for clinical patient care while volunteering, and before even starting medical school, felt a magnetic interest towards the field of Radiation Oncology. She attended University of Minnesota medical school and was awarded a research grant studying molecular profiling. After receiving her Doctorate of Medicine in 2007, she started her internship year in Chicago and completed her specialty specific residency in Radiation Oncology at University of California Irvine, an institution designated as a “National Comprehensive Cancer Center” by the National Cancer Institute. Her special clinical interests include breast cancer, lung cancer, gynecologic oncology, and gastrointestinal malignancies. Dr. Bahari regularly attends national conferences and is an active member of several professional organizations on the local, national and international levels. On a more personal note, she is married to Dr. Anhtung Chau who is a gastroenterologist. After work, they enjoy traveling, reading and spending time on the beach.
